Electronic Waste Recycling (E-Waste) & Metal/Large Appliance Recycling
Town of Cheektowaga Highway Superintendent, Mark Wegner has been approached by many residents asking about Electronic waste, how do I dispose of, where can I take it to dump!! Wegner said, “the bottom line is there is no place, and as a result, residents just leave at the curb or dump on a Town road causing a junkyard look throughout the Town. We need to stop illegal dumping and protect the environment.”
For that reason, effective immediately, we are implementing an added service, a new Electronic Drop Off Site at the Cheektowaga Highway Department where Residents will be able to dispose of old/unused electronic materials. Our new program is controlled and convenient for residents; we will accept only approved materials. A manned drop off location on-site has been established for professional material handlers to following all local, state and DEC guidelines.
There is no charge to drop off electronics EXCEPT for the following items:
CRT Monitors – $30.00 Flat Panel Monitors – $15.00
CRT TV less than 27” – $30.00 Flat Panel Television(LED, LCD and Plasma) – $30.00
CRT TV larger than 27” – $50.00
*There is also an additional $10.00 fee for non-residents.
Residents can pay for the items above at the Town Clerk’s Office. A receipt will be issued to take to Highway and drop off your items.
HOURS OF OPERATION
Monday – Thursday 9AM – 1PM
Friday 9AM – 12PM
Wegner also stated, “If other neighboring Towns offer this service for their residents so should we. We have the resources to offer this program to our residents, they deserve as many services as we can provide.”
