Vacant, Abandoned “Zombie” Residential Properties
WE NEED YOUR HELP TO ADDRESS THESE PROPERTIES IN THE TOWN.
The Town of Cheektowaga is committed to fighting vacant, abandoned and “zombie properties” in our neighborhoods. We need your help in identifying such properties. The general public can assist in this endeavor by calling the Town’s Vacant and Abandoned Property hotline at 716-897-7200 ext. 9 and report any known or suspected vacant property. The Town will also report vacant properties to the New York State Department of Financial Services Zombie Property Registry
The New York State Department FS is compiling a list of all “zombie properties” and will work to make sure the banks/mortgagors maintain the properties. The Town of Cheektowaga will have access to the NYSDFS list and will work with the service companies to keep the property maintained.
