The vision statement above, which is from the draft of our new Cheektowaga Comprehensive Plan, embraces the economic development strategy we have for the Town of Cheektowaga. Maintaining the existing business community while also growing new business and industry, which can create good paying jobs for our residents, is vitally important and we will make every effort to assist in making connections that will see a project through to fruition.

Cheektowaga, as the home to this region’s leading transportation hub, the
Buffalo Niagara International Airport, and Walden Galleria, the premier shopping destination, is very familiar to our Canadian neighbors who utilize both heavily. Cheektowaga is well positioned to provide Canadian companies and investors looking to expand into the United States with a home away from home.

Our new Cheektowaga Comprehensive Plan is currently being drafted and a key component will focus on economic development strategies which will provide the basis by which we can enhance our Town’s profile and demonstrate the positive aspects of locating here.
Among the current resources we can call upon for possible assistance are the Cheektowaga Economic Development Corporation and, also, Mr. Paul Leone, Cheektowaga’s Economic Development Consultant. Paul has a broad knowledge of the various State and regional programs available to assist with business development. Supervisor Nowak also is a member of the executive board of the Erie County Industrial Development Agency.
The Town of Cheektowaga enjoys an excellent working relationship with the Cheektowaga Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber is among of the Town’s most active organizations and one which contributes positively to the Town’s economic base while also working with public officials for efficiency within our local government.
