The Town of Cheektowaga Veterans Affairs Committee was established in 1990 for the purpose of providing Veterans with a true voice in government. Members who have served, in addition to those who are currently serving on this volunteer committee, include Veterans from all branches of our Armed Forces.

In its 28 year history, our Committee has hosted various events to assist veterans with concerns relating to education, health, PSD’s, employment and a newly-created Thank-A Vet Program, which is administered through the Erie County Clerk’s Office.  Our Committee also has the honor of planning annual events for Memorial Day, 9/11 Remembrance and Veterans Day which are held at our Veterans Monument in Cheektowaga Town Park.

Our Committee also participates in the annual War of 1812 Commemoration ceremony at the Garrison Cemetery on Aero Drive.

The Town of Cheektowaga Veterans Affairs Committee meets the first Wednesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. in the Second Floor Conference Room of Cheektowaga Town Hall.  We are always
