Town Clerk & Receiver of Taxes
The Office of the Town Clerk is the central processing center for record keeping and administrative duties of the Town. It is the central depository of documents and papers vital to the lives of the townspeople. Some of the more noticeable duties include the issuance of licenses, permits and vital statistic records as well as the proper filings to New York State for funds received by the Town.
The Town Clerk also serves as the Receiver of Taxes, collecting funds for the Town of Cheektowaga, the County of Erie and the eight (8) school districts located within the Town boarders.
As the Recording Secretary for the Town Board Meetings. It is a huge responsibility to produce and hold the official record of the activities of town government. The resulting volumes of minute books are retained permanently for legal and historic purposes.

For your convenience, the Town of Cheektowaga accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express credit/debit cards. Our service provider will charge a convenience fee that will be added to your payment amount for each transaction:
- 2.5% will be added
- There is a minimum charge of $1.80
The amount of the convenience fee will be listed on your receipt.
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION (FOIL)
Administrator of the Freedom of Information Law which guarantees your right to know the workings of government. The Freedom of Information law (FOIL), Public Officers’ Law Article 6, provides that all records are accessible, except records or portions of records that fall within one of the nine categories of deniable records. RECORDS MANAGEMENT OFFICER
Custodian of all town records, responsible for active files, storage and disposition of inactive records and the careful maintenance of archival material.

NOTARY PUBLIC
The Town Clerk and Deputy Town Clerk are available during regular business hours to notarize documents for Town residents. Photo identification must be presented and the person whose signature is to be notarized must sign the document in the presence of the Notary and must take an oath or make an affirmation as to the truthfulness of the information contained within the document. There is no charge for this service.
