The Comptroller is responsible for the administrative work in planning, organizing, coordinating and directing the financial activities of the town.  The Comptroller plans and maintains a Central Accounting System for the Town, including pre-audit and other financial controls.  In addition, the Comptroller advises Department Heads and the Town Supervisor in the review of estimates and preparation of Budgets.  The Comptroller shall also provide the Supervisor with timely and informative financial reports and statements.

•Directs the maintenance of a Central Accounting System.

•Provides review of disbursements to assure compliance with procedures.

•Assure that expenditures do not exceed budgetary appropriations.

•Prepare Financial Statements at regular intervals for use by the Supervisor and other operating officials.

•Work with Department head with Budget Preparation.

•Other task deemed necessary to ensure the Financial Stability and Internal Controls.

•Directs the approval, audit and certification of all claims against the town for Payrolls, Goods, and Services.

•Compiles statements of current operating and Capital expenditures for use by the Supervisor.
