URGENT: SCAM NOTICE – 3/18/2026

Notice to the Public:

It has come to the attention of the Town of Cheektowaga that recently a scam has presented itself to the community and beyond. The scam includes unauthorized attempts at billing for costs/fees associated with services and/or improvement projects within the Town of Cheektowaga on documents pretending to be Town issued. The Town of Cheektowaga, in particular the Building & Plumbing Department, does NOT request or accept payment for fees via wire. If you are on the receiving end of such an attempt, you are encouraged to contact your local law enforcement agency to report. If you have legitimate business with the Town, please feel free to contact the department with which you are dealing, to verify a request for payment.

PLEASE DO NOT PROVIDE BANKING INFORMATION, OR “WIRE” ANY FUNDS, TO ANYONE CLAIMING TO BE BILLING FOR COSTS/FEES ON BEHALF OF, OR AS, THE TOWN OF CHEEKTOWAGA.
